UCLA’s Professional Schools educate engineers, artists, musicians, and individuals pursuing careers in health, theater, and film. Nearly all undergraduate programs within these schools have a longstanding tradition of requiring students to complete a capstone experience.

Both within and across the professional schools, capstone frameworks vary by concentration. Students may work individually or as part of a collaborative team to apply knowledge from prior coursework alongside new techniques acquired through their capstone course(s). These culminate in completed product designs, immersive internship work, senior thesis development, or presenting, directing, and performing original creative works.
