UCLA’s Professional Schools, which sponsor 18 undergraduate majors, educate engineers, artists, musicians, and those pursuing careers in health, theater, and film. Nearly all undergraduate programs within these schools have a longstanding tradition of requiring students to complete a capstone.

Both within and across the professional schools, capstone experiences vary by concentration. Students may work individually or as part of a team as they apply knowledge gleaned through prior coursework and new techniques acquired through the capstone course(s) to complete product designs; engage in internship work, develop a senior thesis; and perform, direct, or present creative works.
